Welcome to Ummah NYC

Ummah NYC was launched in 2020 with the goal of uniting and connecting New York City area Muslims with Masjids, facilities, and resources that will help them practice their faith. Islam teaches us that Muslims are one united body. "And verily this Ummah of yours is one Ummah and I am your Lord and Cherisher, therefore fear Me and no other." (Quran 23:52). Ummah is an Arabic word that is often translated to mean the Muslim community.

The Muslims of New York City is a community of people from diverse backgrounds, ancestry, and nationalities. Currently, there are over 750,000 Muslims who call New York City home. We are a community without borders, yet united by our shared and unwavering belief in the oneness of God and the Prophethood of Muhammad (peace and blessings upon him).
